Japanese Scientists are Cloning Wooly Mammoths

I'm thoroughly impressed.  Japanese researchers are embarking on an endeavor for the ages.  They intend to clone a mammoth by inserting the nuclei of mammoth cells into the cell of an elephant's egg, thus creating an embryo.  They will then insert the embryo into the uterus of a live elephant, which will hopefully birth the first baby mammoth since the end of the last Ice Age.  Shouts to the infamous Mark Houston for finding this.
