Not Enough

This past November for my daughter Kairi's birthday, I wrote her a poem.  I don't know why, but I never posted it here:

I'd say that I love you but that's not quite true,

There isn't a word I could muster for you.

I'd say that I miss you when we were apart,

But that just can't happen if you're in my heart.

I'd say that I'd love you for all of my days,

But even my minutes are yours in a way.

I see you and rough days just don't feel as tough,

So saying I love you just isn't enough.

I'd say I'm excited to see you stand tall,

But I'm just excited to see you at all.

I'd say that you look like an angel would too,

But I think it's angels that might look like you.

I'd say you were pretty as pretty can be,

But pretty is jealous of you don't you see.

I see you and rough days just don't feel as tough,

So saying I love you just isn't enough.

Don't worry, that's not all I got her.  I got her toys too.

See ya Space Cowboys...
